DAYS OF REMEMBRANCE…Reflecting on the Holocaust About Today’s Moral Responsibilities
By Elsa Malakoff

On behalf of Missouri City, Mayor Allen Owen (right) issued a Proclamation in memory of the victims of the Holocaust through April 30th and in honor of the survivors, rescuers and liberators. Presented to Council Member Eunice Reiter (left) during a regular City Council meeting, “we, as citizens of the City of Missouri City, should strive to overcome intolerance and indifference through learning and remembrance,” said Mayor Owen. Missouri City commemorates the national observance annually in keeping with a public law passed by Congress in 1980, setting aside a week of Days of Remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust and for the purpose of reflecting on the need for respect of all people.
